Netflix's 'One Day' Overtakes Love Is Blind: A Week of TV Drama

Valentine’s Day welcomed the return of “Love Is Blind,” and viewers flocked back as well. Season 6 of the popular reality dating show debuted as the second most-watched title on Netflix’s weekly streaming rankings, garnering 6.3 million views within the initial five days of Episodes 1-6 becoming available. In the weeks ahead, the series is poised to maintain its high standing, as Netflix continues its Wednesday episode releases.

Outshining “Love Is Blind” on the TV charts was the romantic limited series “One Day.” Initially securing the third spot with 5.3 million views in its first four days on Netflix, the series ascended to the top position for the week of Feb. 12-18, accumulating 9.9 million views.

After enjoying a three-week reign at the summit, “Griselda” slipped to the third position, amassing 5.8 million views between Feb. 12 and 18. Following closely was the first season of “The Tourist,” now in its third week on Netflix after the BBC series was dropped from Max. A new season is slated to hit Netflix on Feb. 29.

For the seventh consecutive week, “Fool Me Once” secured a place in the Netflix Top 10, drawing in 2.3 million views. The series had previously claimed its spot as the ninth most-watched English-language TV show of all time during the Jan. 29-Feb. 4 viewing window, reaching 84.9 million views. Although it still resides in the ninth spot, the series has now garnered 90.6 million views. Netflix will continue tracking views for the Most Popular list during the title’s initial 91 days of availability.

Taylor Tomlinson’s “Have it All” matched “Fool Me Once,” accumulating 2.3 million views within its first six days. The inclusion of a stand-up special on the chart underscores Netflix’s recent shift to ranking titles by estimated views, with shorter runtimes no longer posing a disadvantage, as was the case when the chart was solely based on hours viewed.

In its fifth week on Netflix, “American Nightmare” achieved 2.2 million views. The bottom trio on the English TV chart each garnered 1.7 million views: “Warrior” Season 1, recently added to Netflix after Max’s cancellation in December; Season 1 of “Resident Alien,” added to Netflix while currently in its third season on Syfy; and “House M.D.,” recently added to Netflix even though it concluded on Fox in 2012.

Noteworthy on the English-language movies chart was the rom-com “Players,” featuring Gina Rodriguez and Damon Wayans Jr. The film amassed 16.3 million views in its initial five days, claiming the title of the week’s most-watched.
